Rick's 3-Column, CSS Template
I'm offering a 3-column, table-less and source-ordered template. It's designed to work well with Site Build It! but it will work for any website. It meets the guidelines of the latest recommendations proposed by the World Wide Web Consortium.
That means it is based on the concept that structure (content) should be separated from presentation (design) when building a web page. As such it uses a simple HTML file that is styled by a relatively simple Cascading Stye Sheet (CSS). No tables means that the HTML code is kept lean and fast-loading. It also helps the design keep away from that "boxy" look.
The "source-ordered" part means that the main content comes before any navigation or sidebars in the HTML. SEs should be able to find the important content easily.
It includes both the HTML code and the CSS file. They work together to create the page. So it's more than just "look and feel".

For someone who is ready to move to a 3-column format and wants to upload their own HTML it should work well. If you use a WYSIWYG program like Kompozer with it you'll find it's not hard to move your content from an existing site into the main content area of the page. We've tested the template and created our training videos around using Kompozer but it will also work find with other text editors or Dreamweaver.
Now this is not for a beginner. You'll need to have solid HTML skills and at least be familiar with CSS to edit it yourself. On the other hand if you like the basic look you may not have to touch the CSS file at all. And if you'd like some customization or training on how to use it, that is available too. Several HTML beginners have been able to use it with some help.

Custom Design Available
I offer custom design for the template. I've been a graphic designer for over 20 years so customizing the template is a specialty of mine.
Your custom template will have your logo added or a new one created and all colors and images will be synchronized with the design. You can also have your E-zine signup and RSS box included on the final template. Your home page conversion is included. A complete, ready to go, customized design will cost $300. So it includes...
- Concept and design for the header and logo and basic look of site.
- Coordination of the Look and Feel with the header concept including colors, fonts, and graphics.
- Creation of home page and 2 other pages for your site (content supplied by you) or transfer of 3 existing pages from your current site.
- One round of changes to the design.
- If there is time left over I will provide training to learn how to edit the template yourself. However much of what you need is already available in my instructional videos on this page.
- Total consulting time provided 4 hours. You can purchase additional time for $75 per hour.

Here's some specifications for the template...
- 1000 pixels wide.
- Fixed design (all columns remain the same width)
- Fonts and colors can be easily changed from the CSS file.
- The navigation is both horizontal at the top for Tier 2 links, and vertical on the left for Tier 3 pages. This means your visitor should be able to get to any page within 2 clicks. It should mean they will visit more pages and spend more time on your site. For an example of how that works see this site.
- Customization of design and colors are an added option.
- Complete site transfer and upload is also available
- Training for how to make adjustments and use the template is also available.
